// Fairytale relationships//
Today someone close to me asked me if it is possible to love someone when your still in love with your ex.
At first I wanted to say yes as it seems like a simple question but at a second glance this question has more than one answer.
How is it that you can be fully committed to someone but still have feelings for another?
It’s an issue that happens to a lot of people within their lives.
Ok to make this clearer let’s set up a scene here:
Once upon time their was a girl called Charlene. Now you see Charlene was hopelessly in love with a guy named Mike, they are actually an item. Everything seems to being going good for the couple Charlene hangs on to every word Mike says and do, it seems nothing could spoil their happiness.
Then out of nowhere an evil ‘Bitch’ comes out of nowhere and entices Mike with her wicked spell. This ‘Bitch’ (let’s call her Channel) is everything Charlene is not, Mike lusts after Channel and ends up leaving Charlene for her.
Charlene is heartbroken that Mike would just leave her out in the cold like that. She fort they was going to be together forever. BUT along comes her knight in shining armour Peter, who takes her away from her depressing life and they live happily ever after. Until Mike returns explaining to Charlene that he finally broke away from Channel’s wicked spell, announcing. His undying love for Charlene.
What is Charlene to do???
OK!
Let’s get back to reality here. The sad truth about this situation is that some females do see their lives as a fairytale. Channel is not an evil ‘Bitch’ she just a normal girl that happened to catch the eye of Mike. If anyone is bad in this situation it would be Mike, he could of ended his relationship with Charlene in a much better way.
Peter is not a knight in shinning armour, he’s just the next boyfriend.
Anyway back to the subject at top, about loving two people at once.
In the case of Charlene she’s not actually in love with Mike anymore, she’s still in love with what they HAD. She feels she is not over Mike because she is living in the past reminiscing about the good times they had together. What Charlene needs to do is also remember the BAD times they had and the reason why they broke up. Also she may not be so deeply in love with Peter as she makes out. She needs to make sure that she loves Peter for who he truly is and not for the fact that he makes her forget about Mike.
If you found yourself in Charlene’s situation stop and think about it, and then ask yourself ca you really love two people at the same time?
In my opinion there is no right answer it is different for everyone.
